Emote Wheel

Hold X, point, let go

The emote wheel stays open while you hold X. Point at an emote and let go of the key to play it. Six emotes fit on a page, the left and right mouse buttons turn the pages and the keys 1 to 6 play a slot without aiming. Tap X twice and you can search all your emotes by name.

  • Opens with X, or any key or mouse button you like
  • Six emotes per page
  • Left mouse button for the page before, right for the next
  • 1 to 6 play the matching slot
  • Tap X twice to search by name
  • Pick an emote while one plays to stop it

Everyone with the Laby Client sees your emotes. To play them you need a connection to Laby Chat, and nobody sees them while your status is set to invisible. You can also play them from Laby Commander with Ctrl+K.

X held: the selection follows the mouse over Dj and Jetpack. Let go on Griddy and the player dances.

Daily Emotes

New emotes in your wheel, every day

With Daily Emotes, a golden page sits left of page 1 in your wheel. It holds the day's emotes, and you can play them without buying them. Tomorrow the page has new ones. Daily Emotes come with Laby+ or the Daily Emote Flatrate from the shop.

  • A golden page left of page 1
  • New emotes every day
  • Play them without owning them
  • Part of Laby+, or on their own as the Daily Emote Flatrate

The countdown runs to midnight in Berlin, when the day's emotes change.

  • Macarena
  • Pirouette
  • Griddy

Sprays

Spray your mark on any wall

Hold G, pick a spray and let go: it fades onto the block you look at, and everyone with the Laby Client sees it. A spray stays for 60 seconds. It only sticks to full blocks, so slabs, stairs, flowers and thin air are out. Pick one of six sprays from Laby's spray packs below and watch it go on the wall.

  • Spray wheel on G, six sprays per page
  • Stays 60 seconds, then fades out
  • 60 seconds between sprays, 2 seconds with Laby+
  • Only on full blocks, never on players or mobs
  • Your player plays a short spray animation
  • Needs a connection to Laby Chat

Creators in the partner program can give their own spray pack to their Twitch subscribers and YouTube members. Those sprays show up in your spray wheel.

Emote settings

Your view moves with the emote

In first person your view moves with the emote: a backflip flips the camera all the way round, a bow looks at your feet. First Person Head Animation adds the head's own movement on top; turn it off and only the body moves your view. The emote settings are in the Mods menu under Cosmetics, next to the order of the wheel.

  • First Person Head Animation, on by default
  • Order emotes clockwise, on by default
  • Show cosmetics in the emote wheel, off by default
  • Emotes can be turned off completely

Emotes are more fun with an audience: share your singleplayer world and your friends join you in a few clicks.

Laby+

Every emote in your wheel, and sprays without the wait

Without Laby+ your wheel holds six emotes. Laby+ lifts the limit, so every emote you own fits in, page after page. It also adds the Daily Emotes page and lets you spray every 2 seconds instead of every 60.

  • Unlimited emote slots
  • Daily Emotes page with new emotes every day
  • Spray every 2 seconds
  • Your previous spray stays 2.5 seconds after a new one

Find your next move in the shop

New emotes come from the Laby shop: dances, walks, emotes that turn you into something else and calm ones for waiting in the lobby. An emote you buy is in your wheel the next time you open it, on every version the Laby Client supports.

  • Dancing, walking, transform and idle emotes
  • Pay with money or Laby Coins
  • Bought emotes show up in the wheel
  • Some emotes come with a vehicle or a prop

Questions and answers

How do I use emotes in Minecraft?

Install the free Laby Client and hold X in game. The emote wheel opens; point at an emote and let go of X to play it. You can also press 1 to 6 while the wheel is open. The key can be changed in the Mods menu under Cosmetics.

How do I get more emotes?

Emotes come from the Laby shop, where you pay with money or Laby Coins. With Laby+ or the Daily Emote Flatrate you also get the Daily Emotes page, with new emotes to play every day.

Can other players see my emotes?

Yes, everyone who plays with the Laby Client sees them, on any server. Emotes are sent through Laby Chat, so you need to be connected, and nobody sees them while your status is set to invisible. Players with the vanilla game do not see them.

How do sprays work in Minecraft?

Hold G to open the spray wheel, pick a spray and let go. It appears on the block you look at for 60 seconds. Sprays only go on full blocks, and you can spray again after 60 seconds, or after 2 seconds with Laby+.

How many emotes can I have in the wheel?

Without Laby+ the wheel holds six emotes, one page. With Laby+ every emote you own fits in, spread over as many pages as you need, and you turn them with the left and right mouse buttons.

Do emotes work on every Minecraft version?

Emotes and sprays come with the Laby Client on Minecraft 1.8.9 up to the latest release. Servers do not need a plugin for them.

Your first dance is one key away.

The emote wheel, sprays and Daily Emotes are already inside the Laby Client. Hold X in game and pick a move.

Free, no account beyond your Minecraft one. Every mod is already inside.
