Firework Generator
Rocket Settings
Craftable rockets use 1–3 gunpowder. Higher values fly longer before exploding.

Explosions1 / 7
Explosion 1Large Ball
The 16 firework star dye colors - the command stores their exact RGB values.
Optional - the sparks fade to these colors after the explosion.
Give command
/give @p minecraft:firework_rocket[fireworks={flight_duration:2,explosions:[{shape:"large_ball",colors:[I;11743532,15435844],fade_colors:[I;14602026],has_trail:1b}]}] 1Run this in chat or a command block. A crafted rocket holds up to 7 firework stars.
Fireworks engineering made visual
Design firework rockets exactly like crafting them from firework stars - just without wasting gunpowder on experiments. Pick explosion shapes, primary and fade colors, trail and twinkle effects and the flight duration, watch the rocket explode in a live preview and copy the /give command for Java Edition.
All explosion shapes
Small ball, large ball, star, creeper face and burst - combine multiple explosion stars in a single rocket.
Colors and fade colors
Choose any dye colors per explosion plus separate fade colors the sparks transition into.
Trail and twinkle
Add the diamond trail and glowstone twinkle effects per star, exactly like the crafting recipe modifiers.
Flight duration control
Set gunpowder count (1-3) for launch height - or craft-impossible values for command-only rockets.
Live explosion preview
Watch the finished rocket launch and explode with your colors before you spawn a single one in-game.
Elytra-ready output
Generate stacks of boost rockets without stars, or show rockets for displays - both as clean /give commands.
How to create a custom firework rocket
- 1
Design the explosion
Pick shape, colors, fade colors and effects for the first star - and add more stars for layered explosions.
- 2
Set the flight
Choose flight duration 1-3 for the launch height, matching one to three gunpowder in the recipe.
- 3
Copy and launch
Copy the /give command, grab the rockets in-game and launch them from the ground, a dispenser or a crossbow.
Frequently asked questions
- How do firework colors work?
- Each firework star carries one or more dye colors for the explosion and optional fade colors the particles shift into. In crafting you add dyes to the star; the generator writes them straight into the item's NBT/components.
- What do trail and twinkle do?
- Trail (crafted with a diamond) leaves particle trails behind every spark; twinkle (glowstone dust) makes sparks flash and crackle after the explosion. Both can be combined on the same star.
- How high does a rocket fly?
- Flight duration 1-3 (one to three gunpowder) roughly corresponds to 8-20, 18-34 and 32-52 blocks. Commands also allow values outside that range, including instant explosions at duration 0.
- Do custom rockets work with elytra?
- Yes - any rocket boosts elytra flight. But rockets containing explosion stars damage you on use, so pure boost rockets without stars are the safe choice for travel.
- Can one rocket have multiple explosions?
- Yes - a rocket accepts up to seven firework stars in crafting, each with its own shape and colors. The generator lets you stack them and previews the combined explosion.
- How do I launch fireworks automatically?
- Put the generated rockets into a dispenser facing up and clock it with redstone - the standard setup for synchronized firework shows.
