Every Minecraft time unit, converted
Convert between game ticks, real-world time and the in-game clock in both directions - with a visual day/night cycle showing where any tick value lands. A Minecraft day is 24,000 ticks or exactly 20 real minutes; this converter does the math for command timings, redstone contraptions, farm rates and /time set values.
Ticks ↔ real time
20 ticks per second: convert any tick count into hours, minutes and seconds - and back.
In-game clock conversion
Translate day time ticks into the Minecraft clock (6:00 at tick 0) and pick times of day visually.
Day/night cycle view
See sunrise, noon, sunset, night and the monster-spawn window on a live cycle visualization.
/time set commands
Copy ready commands for day, noon, night, midnight or any exact tick value.
Redstone-friendly
Convert repeater delays and observer pulses: 1 redstone tick = 2 game ticks = 0.1 seconds.
Duration presets
Common reference points built in - day length, night length, potion durations and more.
How to convert Minecraft time
- 1
Enter any value
Type ticks, real time or a clock time - the other units update instantly.
- 2
Read the cycle
Check where the value falls in the day/night cycle - sleep window, mob spawning, beds and phantoms.
- 3
Copy the command
Grab the matching /time set command for your world or command block chain.
Frequently asked questions
- How long is a Minecraft day?
- A full day/night cycle is 24,000 game ticks = 20 real minutes. Daytime lasts 10 minutes, sunset/sunrise about 1.5 minutes each, and the night roughly 7 minutes.
- How many ticks are in a second?
- The game runs at 20 ticks per second, so one tick is 50 milliseconds. Redstone components tick at half that rate: a redstone tick equals 2 game ticks (0.1 s).
- What do /time set day, noon and night equal?
- day = 1000, noon = 6000, night = 13000, midnight = 18000 ticks. Tick 0 corresponds to 6:00 in the morning on the in-game clock.
- When can players sleep and when do mobs spawn?
- Beds work from tick 12542 (12010 during rain), and hostile mobs spawn on the surface at light levels the night brings from around tick 13000. The cycle view marks both windows.
- Does /time add skip weather or daylight only?
- /time add advances the world time, which drives the clock and daylight - weather runs on its own timer and is controlled separately with /weather.
- Why do my farm rates use ticks?
- Random ticks, spawn attempts and machine cycles are all defined in game ticks, so per-hour rates are just tick math: one hour equals 72,000 game ticks.
