Questions and answers
How many mods does the Laby Client have?
The Laby Client comes with 56 built-in mods and 58 HUD widgets, from inventory search and PvP tools to visuals and chat tools. On 1.8.9 there are 53 mods, because a few need newer game versions.
Do I need Forge, Fabric or OptiFine for these mods?
No. All mods are part of the Laby Client and work right after installing it. If you want more, the addon store in the mods menu has third-party addons, and the Laby Launcher can start Forge and Fabric too.
Are the Laby Client mods allowed on servers?
Yes. The Laby Client has no cheats. Features that could matter for fairness are in the hands of the server: team markers only work where the server allows them, and servers can turn off things like the TNT timer or inventory search.
How do I turn a mod on?
Open the mods menu in the Laby Client, find the mod by category or search, and click its tile. With Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) you can find and switch any mod or setting from anywhere, even in game.
Which Minecraft versions are supported?
The Laby Client runs on more than 20 versions of Minecraft Java Edition, from 1.8.9 to the latest release. Each version keeps its own mods and settings.
Are the mods free?
Yes. The Laby Client and every mod in it are free. Laby makes money with optional cosmetics and Laby+.
